Interested in conserving water and helping the environment in our own neighborhood? Join in the 1st Annual Canyon Creek Mulch-a-Thon on Earth Day, Saturday, April 22, 2017, from 7 a.m. - 1 p.m.. The Board has kindly granted permission for a group of teens and adults to help make a difference in water usage in our neighborhood!
It’s easy to participate:
- 1) From 7:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. Drop 1 bag (or 2!) of Texas Native Hardwood Brown Mulch at your favorite thinning grass area on Boulder Lane, or, if you prefer, at the Mulch Collection Centers hosted at both Trailhead and the Canyon Creek Pool Area parks.
- Gather a group of teen friends or adults, bring a hoe or rake labeled with your name, and register as a volunteer at either Canyon Creek or Trailhead Park.
Team leaders are needed so please contact Elizabeth Wolf via Nextdor if you are interested in a leadership position, teens welcome!!
Service hours will be from 7:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., your start time is up to you. The goal is to be finished as early as possible and to receive 1 bag of mulch from every resident. We think we can have a major impact on our water use as a neighborhood with just a tiny investment of a few dollars from every household! Over 3-5 years we hope to truly transform our environment!!
Please note carefully!! No children or pets will be allowed to participate for safety reasons. Keep in mind that the neighborhood yard sale event will be taking place so there will be extra activity and traffic in the neighborhood! We ask all volunteers to wear neon or other bright colored shirts for safety first!!
