Our new Canyon Creek AFD fire station #54 and EMS station #43 located at 9804 N FM 620 are now completed and operational as noted in the City of Austin announcement below. This should give our neighborhood a degree and level of response not previously available. This new fire station comes at a time with increased concern and emphasis on wildfire mitigation and control. The APD station planned for this same site will not have potential funding until at least 2026 or 2027. More information on the proposed APD station will be updated as it becomes available.

Construction Completed on Canyon Creek Fire and EMS Station
Capital Delivery Services (CDS) is pleased to announce the completion of the Canyon Creek Fire and EMS (AFD #54/EMS #43) Station. Austin Fire Department (AFD) and Austin-Travis County EMS (ATCEMS). We appreciate the community’s patience and support throughout this important public safety project.
This new station is the fifth to be completed in the past six years, following the 2018 City Council initiative to improve emergency response times in areas experiencing rapid population growth and historically low response rates. This milestone represents the City’s ongoing commitment to ensuring swift, reliable emergency services for all residents.
Capital Delivery Services broke ground and began construction in January 2024. By January 2025, Substantial Completion was reached, and crews moved in earlier this month.
APD Substation
As of January 2025, there is currently no funding for the Austin Police Department Substation. The city anticipates late 2026, or early 2027 for any updates. However, funding has yet to be secured and is not guaranteed.
Capital Delivery Services has completed the Canyon Creek Fire/EMS Station, as designed, within its anticipated timeline and associated budget.
