Some of our Canyon Creek residents have noticed a large mound of dirt and a trench on the center median at our south Boulder entrance at RM 620. This is the start of construction for a new raised landscape bed with natural stone walls. Our HOA board approved this expenditure over two years ago as part of a beautification project to enhance the appearance of the south entrance. The funds to build this landscaping bed came from our HOA dues assessments that help provide continuous improvements to our neighborhood. After a lengthy review and approval process by the City of Austin, we now have a construction permit for this new landscape bed. Urban Dirt has been selected as our landscaping contractor to construct this new bed that will contain several types of drought resistant native plants (see attached artist rendering). This new landscaping bed will 30 ft long x 10 ft wide x 2 ft high at the top edge of the stone wall surrounding the bed. There will also be 3 large diameter metal cylinders inside the bed that contain plants and add to this unique design. It is anticipated that this new raised landscape bed will be completed before the end of December 2023. A commercial grade solar lighting system is currently on back order and will be installed in the February-March 2024 time frame to complete this project. We trust that this beautification project will be well received by our CC residents.
